April 2017 Chapter President’s Message
I want to personally thank everyone that attended the March Meeting at SWFWMD in Tampa and our presenter Andrea Ball the ASSE Region IV Vice President
There are several significant changes coming up for vote with the ASSE.
- ASSE is voting for renaming and rebranding
- ASSE is voting for a dues increase
Our next meeting is April 18, 2017 at the Southwest Florida Water Management District in Tampa if you would like to discuss the changes in person with your local representative.
There will be a Graduate Student Thesis Presentation by William Swankie on “Effects of Temperature on the Emission Rate of Formaldehyde from Medium Density Fiberboard in a Controlled Chamber”
Please help support our next generation of Professional by attending. If you know an Industrial Hygienist that would like to attend, we will let them attend at the member cost of $15.00 or you may bring them as a guest.
We had several visitors attend that I hope will become frequent attendees, future members, peers and friends.
I believe the opportunity to meet frequently with our peers and discuss important issues and solutions for our efforts should be one of the continuing priorities of the ASSE. Networking, sharing of best practices, continuing education, promoting the profession and education are some of the tools available to us.
Please contact me, Josh Wallace, or other officers, if there is a topic of interest or question that you would like to discuss at any future meeting. I would like to dedicate the last 5 – 15 minutes of the meeting for topic discussion to collaborate on any challenges we may face. This is a way to learn and give back at the same time, meet new people and develop a network of professionals that may one day help you in your future.
Thanks and please contact me with any ideas that you may have to continue to make our meetings value added for us all.
